I have been making films since I was in grade school when my father, Joseph Szabo,  showed me how to use his 8mm film camera and editing/splicing station.

Above is my film Creativity Explored about an art gallery and studio in San Francisco for artists with disabilities which premiered on PBS KTEH San Jose, California, one of the largest PBS stations in the nation.
For my other films including  "Sea Monkeys" which won the Grand Festival Award for Best Short Romantic Comedy at The Berkeley Film Festival and other shorts that premiered at the San Francisco International Film Festival please go to YouTube and enter "John Szabo filmmaker."
Posing with my Canon XL1s, a digital camera that allows for interchangeable lenses,  and the kind of manual controls found on film cameras.
